Shadin Awad receives the UCSC Alumni Association’s 2014-2015 College Service Award for Oakes College

As an amazing Oakes and campus leader, Shadin is dedicated to mentoring students, both informally and as a Neighborhood Assistant. She has also been an active member of Rainbow Theater, and helped to coordinate the African/Black Student Conference on our campus. This was the first time ABS was hosted on our campus in 10 years; Shadin’s leadership was essential in making this happen. While doing all of this, Shadin earned a 4.0 during the Spring 2014 quarter.
