Our Oakes Team
Xavier Livermon, Interim College Provost

Xavier Livermon is Associate Professor of Critical Race and Ethnic Studies and faculty affiliate with Feminist Studies and Film and Digital Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He was also the inaugural director of Black Studies at UCSC and currently serves as Interim Provost of Oakes College. He seeks to enrich the academic experience for all Oakes students. He works closely with the Senior Director to integrate the academic with the social, cultural, and residential programs in the college. He also oversees the Oakes Core Course.

Mari is responsible for the administration of the college. She oversees the college’s cultural, social, and residential programs, staff, facilities, and student conduct.
Marie Morones, College Assistant

Marie provides information and support to the college community as well as supervises the mailroom.
Ella, College Academic Manager

Ella provides administrative and academic support to Provost Livermon. She assists in the coordination of the Core Course and other courses offered by the college and is responsible for special student project grants and funds.
Christian Galliguez, College Programs Coordinator

Christian manages all social, cultural, and educational college programs and events, including graduation and orientation. He also works with the academic staff and Core Course staff to promote academic success and advise the Oakes Senate.
Elsa Silva, Housing Coordinator

Elsa offers administrative housing support to Oakes residents, coordinates housing logistics, and offers assistance to the CREs.
Stef Lucero, Coordinator for Residential Education (CRE)

The Coordinator for Residential Education helps to supervise the overall residential life programs and staff, especially the Oakes College Neighborhood Assistants (NAs) in the performance of their duties. They also available for consultation about matters relative to students’ needs and concerns in the residential environment, including student behavior and conduct.
Mary Sierra, College Budget Analyst

Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in making repairs to the college.
