Peer Adviser, Cam Aristimuno

About Me:

As the oldest daughter in an immigrant family, I had the privilege to be the first to go to college. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and came to the United States when I was four years old. My parents wanted me to have a better life and education, and because of this, education has always been a huge part of my life. I knew I had to succeed academically to ever be able to repay them for everything they did for me. Despite the odds, I fought for myself and for my education and I made it to where I am today, a successful third year Astrophysics student. I understand the hardships that come with being a Latinx first generation student, and I am here to be a support, guide, and mentor to those who are as well. I want to work with students to support their personal and academic growth, and be there with them to celebrate their successes. The Oakes community is an amazing, welcoming place and I look forward to being able to share it with my peers.
