Oakes Peer Adviser, Erimar Luna (she/her)

About Me:
As a Latinx woman from a low-income community, education has always been a priority for me. Ever since a young age, I always knew I wanted to pursue higher education at the university level. I have been involved in different spaces throughout campus, like the DRC, the Orientation office and now in a leadership position with Grupo Folklórico Los Mejicas. I became involved in these spaces because they served marginalized communities and as a first generation latinx woman, I only want to give back to my community by serving my community. This is the same reason of why I am now involved with Oakes Peer Advising. Oakes created a welcoming space for myself when I first arrived here and now I want to provide that same feeling to my peers as well.
