About Me:

My experience as a first generation college student, who attended UCSC, was one of the most adventurous and equally challenging parts of my adolescence. I was able to learn, analyse, discuss and apply knowledge that I never dreamt of acquiring. This is why I believe it is important to help guide students towards their goals of academic success. Although my degree is in Human Biology, my heart lies in how connected or sometimes disconnected people are from one another's experience. In listening to each other's experience, we can all grow as a community and shape the future we wish to create. My experience as a Latinx LGBTQ person has informed me more about the work that still needs to happen for all marginalized communities that face systematic disadvantages. We are all stronger if we help one another and equally strong if we allow ourselves to receive it.

"It was very difficult for him to sleep. To sleep is to be abstracted from the world; Funes, on his back on his cot, in the shadows, imagined every crevice and every molding in the various houses which surrounded him." - Funes the Memorious, Jorge Luis Borges
